Sync BrickLink & Brick Owl Inventory Automatically
- Scheduled Order Sync. Every 10 minutes the scheduler runs an Order Sync. 2 sold on BrickLink, so 2 come off Brick Owl.
- Brick Owl callback. With callbacks set up, a sale on Brick Owl starts an Order Sync within seconds, and the 1 comes off BrickLink.
- BrickLink callback. BrickLink callbacks work the same way, so a BrickLink sale comes off Brick Owl without waiting for the scheduler.
- Edit in the app. Change a lot in Brick Seller Companion and it's saved to BrickLink and Brick Owl at the same time, with no sync to wait for.
- Manual Deep Sync. Edit a price on BrickLink, tap Run Deep Sync in the app, and the change is copied to Brick Owl.
- Weekly Deep Sync. If a Deep Sync hasn't run in 7 days, the scheduler runs one, comparing both stores lot by lot.
Two stores, one inventory
Listing on both BrickLink and Brick Owl reaches more buyers, but every sale has to come off the other store by hand, and every price or quantity change has to be made twice. Miss one and you sell a part you no longer have.
Cloud Sync does that work for you. When something sells in one store, the same quantity is removed from the other. When you change your inventory on BrickLink, the change is copied to Brick Owl.
Sales removed about every 10 minutes
Sold on BrickLink? The Brick Owl lot is lowered. Sold on Brick Owl? The BrickLink lot is lowered. With order callbacks, it happens within seconds.
Weekly Deep Sync
Compares your whole inventory and copies BrickLink's quantities, prices, remarks, and new lots to Brick Owl. Run it any time from the Cloud Dashboard.
Logs and errors in the app
The Cloud Dashboard in the app logs every sync: what changed, plus any warnings or errors and why they happened.
Leave items out
Add a ~ to an item's remarks or public note to keep it off Brick Owl and out
of sync.
Flat price, whatever you sell
Cloud Sync is $8.99 a month whether you sell $200 or $20,000. Tools that charge a percentage of sales cost more as you grow: even a 1% fee is more than $8.99 once you sell about $900 a month.
Looking for a BrickSync alternative?
BrickSync is a free desktop program that many stores have used to keep BrickLink and Brick Owl matched. It runs on your own computer, so that computer has to stay on for sync to happen, and it is no longer supported by its original author.
Cloud Sync works the same way BrickSync users are used to — BrickLink is the main store, sales come off both sides — but it runs in the cloud and is actively maintained. There's nothing to install or leave running, and you can check sync status and logs from your phone.
How it works
Sync does two jobs. An Order Sync runs about every 10 minutes and keeps sales from being sold twice. Once a week, a Deep Sync compares your whole inventory and copies any changes you made on BrickLink over to Brick Owl.
BrickLink is the main store. Make inventory changes on BrickLink (or in the app) and they flow to Brick Owl. Sales flow both ways.
- Read new and changed orders from BrickLink and Brick Owl
- Work out what sold
- Lower those quantities in the other store
- Run an Order Sync first
- Read the full inventory from both stores
- Copy BrickLink changes to Brick Owl
Order Sync (about every 10 minutes)
Each check looks at recent orders on both stores and compares them with what it saw last time. For a new order, or one whose items changed, it works out how many of each lot were sold and updates the other store:
- Sold on BrickLink → the matching Brick Owl lot is lowered by the same amount.
- Sold on Brick Owl → the matching BrickLink lot is lowered by the same amount.
Each order is only counted once, so checking it again later doesn't take the quantity off a second time. If you have order callbacks set up, a new order starts an Order Sync within seconds instead of waiting for the next check. You'll also get a push notification when new orders arrive.
Deep Sync (weekly)
When a Deep Sync hasn't run in the last 7 days, the next check runs one instead of an Order Sync. You can also run one at any time from the Cloud Dashboard. A Deep Sync:
- Runs an Order Sync first, so recent sales are counted.
- Reads your full inventory from both BrickLink and Brick Owl.
- Compares them lot by lot, using BrickLink as the source.
- Creates lots on Brick Owl that are only on BrickLink, and updates Brick Owl lots whose quantity, price, or remarks differ.
- If you turned on removing unmatched items, removes Brick Owl lots that no longer exist on BrickLink.
How your data flows
The cloud keeps a copy of your inventory and recent orders so it can tell what changed between checks. It talks to BrickLink and Brick Owl only through their official APIs, using the keys you connected in the app.
Controlling sync
- Skip an item: add a
~to its remarks or public note and sync will leave it alone. - Pause: you can pause scheduled runs in the Cloud Dashboard. Callbacks are still received while paused but won't start a sync.
- Check what happened: the Cloud Dashboard shows the last sync time, the current status, and a log of each sync and what it changed.
Review logs and errors in the app
You can see everything sync does from your phone. The Cloud Dashboard in Brick Seller Companion lists each sync with a summary of new orders, lots created, updated, deleted, and ignored, and any warnings or errors.
- Open any sync to read its full log, line by line.
- Show only warnings and errors to find problems quickly.
- See why: each entry shows the order, the quantity change, and an explanation of what went wrong.
- Fix it in one tap: some issues have a Resolve Issue button. It tells you what the fix will do first, like skipping an item that keeps failing in Deep Sync or adding a missing item back to an order's history.
Getting started
- Get Brick Seller Companion for iPhone, iPad, or Android.
- Connect both stores: BrickLink API keys and Brick Owl API key.
- Start the Cloud Sync subscription in the app. Your first Deep Sync matches up the lots that already exist in both stores before anything else runs.
- Optional: set up order callbacks so sales sync within seconds.
Questions
Does my phone need to be on for sync to work?
No. Sync runs in the cloud, so your phone doesn't need to be open or even turned on.
How quickly does a sale on one store come off the other?
Order Sync runs about every 10 minutes. With order callbacks set up, a new order starts an Order Sync within seconds instead.
Which store should I make inventory changes in?
BrickLink. BrickLink is the main store: changes made on BrickLink, or in the app, are copied to Brick Owl during Deep Sync. Sales flow both ways.
What happens if I change a price or quantity on Brick Owl directly?
The next Deep Sync compares the lot with BrickLink and updates Brick Owl to match BrickLink's quantity, price, and remarks. Make edits on BrickLink so they stick.
Can I keep some items off Brick Owl?
Yes. Add a ~ to an item's remarks or public note and sync will leave it
alone.
Can a sale be taken off the other store twice?
No. Each order is only counted once, so checking it again later doesn't take the quantity off a second time.
Is this an alternative to BrickSync?
Yes. It keeps BrickLink and Brick Owl in sync with BrickLink as the main store, like BrickSync, but runs in the cloud, so there's no computer to leave on and nothing to install.
How do I know if something went wrong?
The Cloud Dashboard in the app logs every sync, including warnings and errors with an explanation of each. You can filter to show only warnings and errors, and some issues can be fixed with a Resolve Issue button.
How much does it cost?
A flat $8.99 USD per month, on top of the one-time $2.99 app purchase. It is not a percentage of your sales.
